WEDDING JOY

It has been over a year since I last photographed a wedding. Last year I told people I won't be doing weddings anymore, but when Maddy and Nathan asked me to do theirs, I figured I could use the money and it would probably be easy.

Looking back, I HATE that those were my reasons for doing so.

I went into their wedding day expecting it to be "normal" and simply a job.

Boy, was I wrong.

I find that when I get distance from something (a job, person, or hobby) I either get clarity that I couldn't see before or I forget everything that thing made me feel. In this case, I had forgotten all of the emotions and JOY that came with being with a bride + groom, and all of their family on the most special day of their lives (blame it on having a kid, learning how to work a new job, or just forgetfulness).

Maddy + Nathan's faith in Jesus, love for each other, and kindness to their guests was overwhelming. The amount of grace and poise Maddy carried with her throughout the day was inspiring to me.

I could go on and on about how amazing they are, but I'll let you see for yourself in their wedding photographs.

Bottom line is this: Maddy + Nathan,It was an HONOR to capture your wedding day. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for asking and trusting me to do so!

So for this blog post, please enjoy all of my favorite black and white images from Maddy + Nathan's wedding day. If you'd like to see the entire wedding gallery, please click here.
